An exclusive event in an exclusive setting to support retiring athletes
Los Angeles, CA, February 11, 2020 – As athletes prepare for the Tokyo Olympics in July, non-profit organization Athletes Soul is gearing up to support them after the Olympics. The organization, founded last year by a group of former athletes, supports retiring athletes and raises awareness about the challenges of athletic retirement. Similar to military veterans, many athletes struggle to transition after their sporting career especially when retirement is sudden and unplanned. To support its work with athletes, Athletes Soul is hosting an exclusive fundraising gala on Thursday May 7, 2020. Myriam Glez, founder of Athletes Soul, explains “We are raising funds for this year’s programming. Our organization helps elite athletes from all sports throughout the year but we also want to be ready to support the Olympians who will be retiring after Tokyo.” The event will take place on the rooftop ballroom of the Marriott Marina Del Rey, an exclusive setting with sweeping views of the beaches, Hollywood Hills and downtown LA. Athletes Soul, which is based in Los Angeles, is taking full advantage of the leadup to this Summer’s Olympic Games and the momentum towards the LA 2028 Olympics. Over fifty former professional and Olympic athletes are expected to attend this exclusive event. Glez, a 2-time Olympian and multi-national, has gathered an incredibly diverse group of former athletes. 20 different sports and over 10 countries will be in attendance. Women in sports will be heavily represented with multiple female Olympic medalists and World Champions: Lashinda Demus (Track & Field), Caroline Burckle (Swimming), Kami Craig (Water Polo), Elvira Khasyanova (Synchronized Swimming), Sara Lowe (Synchronized Swimming) and Andrea Fuentes (Synchronized Swimming). Many more to be announced soon. With such an incredible event lined up, Athletes Soul is hoping to attract corporate sponsors, individual donors and sports media to support this event and help this cause which strongly resonates with current and former athletes. Visit www.athletessoul.space/support for more information and to become a corporate sponsor or to purchase a ticket. Corporate sponsorships are $10,000 and general admission tickets are $1,000. All proceeds will benefit retiring athletes. --- About ATHLETES SOUL Athletes Soul is a non-profit organization which supports and serves the interests of athletes as they transition out of sports and raise awareness about the challenges of athletic retirement.
